BusBusGo is a free, community-powered bus tracker for West Bengal. By using the app or this website you agree to what follows.
What a bus position is, and is not
Most buses here carry no GPS. Every position BusBusGo shows comes from passengers — somebody riding the bus sharing where it is, or somebody at a stop reporting that they saw it. There is no official feed behind it.
That means a position is evidence, not a guarantee. The app tells you how fresh it is and how many people are behind it, and says plainly when nobody is reporting rather than filling the gap with a guess. Use it as one input, not as a reason to arrive at a stop at the last second or to miss the last bus home.
We do not operate any bus service, and we are not affiliated with WBTC, WBSTC, or any private operator. Route information is compiled from public sources and community submissions and may be incomplete or out of date.
Contributing
When you share your location or submit a report, you agree that:
- You are actually on, or actually looking at, the bus you say you are.
- You will not submit deliberately false positions or sightings. Other people plan their journeys around this.
- Notes you attach are about the bus — not abuse, advertising, or anyone's personal information.
- Your contributions become part of the community record and can be shown to other users, including on the public website, without identifying you beyond your alias.
We may remove contributions and suspend accounts that break these rules, because a community record only works if it is trustworthy.
Your safety
Do not use the app while driving. If you are riding, share your location before you set off rather than while boarding — sharing runs in the background and needs no attention once started.
Accounts
Browsing needs no account. Contributing requires signing in. You are responsible for the activity on your account. You can request deletion at any time — see the Privacy Policy.
Availability
BusBusGo is provided free and as-is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we may change or discontinue features. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from delays, missed buses, or reliance on a position that turned out to be wrong.
Data and maps
Stop and route geometry is derived in part from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). Maps in the app are provided by Google Maps and are subject to Google's terms.
